I am Isabel Lopez Valero, from Teruel (Spain), PhD. In Geology, speciality Crystal Growth, by the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). My thesis directors were Professors José Luis Amorós Portolés (Departamento de Cristalografía y Mineralogía – Facultad de Ciencias Geológicas – UCM) and Roland Boistelle (Centre de Recherche sur les Mécanismes de la Croissance Cristalline CRMC2 – CNRS – Université de Marseille (France)
I have been assistant teacher of Crystallography and Mineralogy during ten years at the University and Crystal Growth Researcher from 1978 in the same institution, as well as in public centers of research and in the industry. I participated in a great number of national and european research projects as a specialist in Crystal Growth, in the areas of Biocrystallisations and Bioceramics of Calcium Phosphates with medical and chirurgical applications. In the last area I worked in R&D and production too.
My admiration for the beauty of crystals, in its natural state, or seen by polarization optical microscope, or electronic scanning microscope, as well as the beauty of the crystallization process in itself, where the pillars of my passion to the Artistic Crystallisation. In 1987 I did my first workshop of crystal growth for using the crystallization as creative process, to plan, generate, observe my crystalline creations and to show them.

At present my occupation is centered in the artistic creation by means of crystallization.
